Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our client's team. The General Ledger Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting month-end close activities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of GAAP principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Month-end Close: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.

Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Variance Analysis: Analyze financial data and investigate variances to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Fixed Assets Management: Record and maintain fixed asset transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and impairment testing.

Intercompany Transactions: Reconcile intercompany accounts and coordinate with other departments/entities to ensure accurate elimination of intercompany balances. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audit requests, providing documentation, explanations, and support as needed. Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements, making recommendations for process improvements as necessary.

Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and procedures, proposing and implementing solutions to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and controls. Ad Hoc Projects: Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, providing financial analysis and insight to support decision-making. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on general ledger accounting. Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (eg, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
